KJ Custom is a family-owned & operated business and has been since the early 2000s. Originally from Colorado, we quickly found out that what we’d heard about Texas was accurate; it’s extremely hot, and everything is bigger, including bugs. We have always had a passion for nature but enjoy it outside the confines of our gather places, so we sought to create living spaces that provide everything the great outdoors have to offer coupled with the comfort of home. Out of that desire, KJ Custom was born.
Teresa Williams – Owner
Teresa Williams is our fearless owner. She took over the business from her brother in 2010 with only a marketing background and limited construction experience. Digging in, Teresa started learning all she could about construction, particularly motorized screens. She threw herself into local organizations, attended any training she could, and worked the field with her installers. She is now one of the leading industry experts in her field and the Dallas/Ft Worth distributor for Universal Motion Screens. Teresa is married to Shane Williams, our company’s GC and together they have 4 children and 2 dogs.
Shane Williams – Construction Manager
Shane is our company’s general contractor. Originally from Canada, he met Teresa through mutual construction friends, and they married 3 years later. Shane builds all our outdoor kitchens, louvered roof systems, steel structures and does all construction work if needed for our motorized screens. With 25 years of general contracting under Shane’s belt, he is perfectionist on the job site. Shane owns Williams Designs + Build and works in conjunction with KJ Custom on all their projects.
Jackie Brooks, Marketing Director
Jackie joined our team in October 2019. Jackie, who has had years of sales experience and possesses a natural talent of establishing customer relationships, markets KJ Custom in the field. She loves meeting new clients and her approach of ‘face to face’ marketing in today’s world of digital marketing is what makes Jackie unique. Jackie joined KJ Custom after 15 years of friendship with Teresa, starting their relationship as neighbors and watching their children grow up together.
Kaity Gonzalez, Office Administrator
Kaity, KJ’s behind the scenes Office Administrator, joined our team in February 2021. From helping customers to setting up schedules to using her creativity for company presentations, Kaity can do it all. She is currently studying Finance/Real Estate at the University of Texas at Dallas with the hopes of becoming a Real Estate Agent in the future. As a full-time employee and college student, Kaity excels in time-management and establishing efficiency at KJ. She is our own Janet from the Good Place – always keeping everyone’s head on straight!
